Autumn’s Descent drops “Adirondack,” a Song About the Struggle to Release a Relationship

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Autumn’s Descent has released the new industrial rock track “Adirondack,” a song that finds its way from the regret of a faded relationship into hard-fought acceptance. The song is streaming on all major platforms now.
“‘Adirondack’ explores the struggle to release a relationship that continues to haunt the memory long after it has ended,” explains Autumn’s Descent mastermind Asche Relesser. “The song is directed both toward a former love and toward the narrator himself, wrestling with grief, spiritual concern, personal hypocrisy, and the difficulty of forgiving the person one used to be.”
That challenge towards seemingly impossible forgiveness creates a push-and-pull tension through the lyrics.
Asche says, “Its recurring contrast between forgetting and forgiving reflects two different battles: letting go of what another person once meant, and making peace with one’s own past. The closing warning, ‘And I’ll slip under,’ acknowledges that continuing to dwell within those memories can become its own form of destruction.”
Sonically, “Adirondack” follows the contrasting slick and punchy industrial textures Autumn’s Descent has become known for, similar to Depeche Mode and Sisters of Mercy. “Adirondack” is being released through A.D. Windblown Media Records, of which Asche is a cofounder. The lyrics promise to resonate with anyone struggling to let go of an old version of themselves or someone they were once close to:
“When will I forget what you meant to me?
When will I forgive who I used to be?”
Asche Relesser wrote, produced, and played all instruments on the song. It follows the release of “Caesar” earlier this summer.
