Presence Music offers an unfiltered look at anxiety, exhaustion, and the pressure to hold everything together on its new single, “Fight or Flight.”

The emotionally honest Christian pop-country track came from a breaking point in vocalist Leah Monson’s life. While traveling, raising two young children, supporting a working husband, and continuing to show up for the people around her, Monson found herself completely depleted. Instead of offering a polished prayer, all she had left were five honest words: “Dear God, I’m not fine.”

That confession became the heart of “Fight or Flight.”

“I think a lot of moms are living that and nobody’s saying it out loud,” Monson shares. “So I did.”

With lyrics describing sleepless nights, racing thoughts, physical exhaustion, and the relentless pressure to meet everyone’s needs, “Fight or Flight” captures the reality of living in survival mode. The song resists the temptation to offer an immediate resolution, instead acknowledging that faith sometimes looks like trusting God while healing still feels far away.

The chorus brings that struggle into sharp focus: “My vision is blurry / My heart’s in a hurry / Am I alright?” Its central prayer–”Dear God, I’m not fine”–creates space for listeners to admit where they truly are without shame or spiritual pretense.

By speaking openly about mental health, motherhood, and faith, Presence Music hopes “Fight or Flight” will remind overwhelmed listeners that honesty can begin with surrender.
